About this deal

Can’t ask for anything more from Harry given the circumstances. He overcame his toughest task yet and still managed to come away with the Snitch. Sure, it would’ve been interesting to see how Harry would’ve done if he had been matched up against a better Seeker than Malfoy, but that’s not Harry’s fault. This is a clear example of authorial intent defying logic. Rowling gave Gryffindor such a lopsided loss to highlight how integral Harry is to all aspects of the story. I just don’t think it aligns with the facts that were presented to the readers. In Template:PS Terence Higgs used the cobbing foul against Harry Potter, although he could have done it simply in retaliation, since Harry cobbed him first. It is unclear if this was the case, as Terence ended up cobbing Harry four times as opposed to twice. This was amended in 1368, possibly due to growing popularity of the game. This amendment made the playing of the sport within one-hundred miles of a Muggle town illegal, famously worded as not to play 'anywhere near any place where there is the slightest chance a Muggle is watching, or we'll see how well you can play while chained to a dungeon wall.' [1]

The first Golden Snitch was invented by a wizard named Bowman Wright, who had a talent for charming metal. The Golden Snitch is exactly the same weight and shape as a Golden Snidget, and the wings of the ball emulate the fast-twitching patterns of the bird. Is The Golden Snitch Alive Serbian: Златна скривалица (Zlatna skrivalica) ( skrivati se "to hide", literally "The little gold hider") Time out' may be called at any time by the Captain of a team. Time out may be extended to two hours if a game has already lasted for more than twelve hours. Failure to return to the pitch after this time will lead to the team being disqualified. [1]

The Golden Snidget Was First Introduced To Quidditch In 1269

A Snitch is not touched by bare skin before it is released, not even by the maker, who wears gloves. It carries an enchantment by which it can identify the first human to lay hands upon it, in the case of disputed capture." — Description of a Flesh Memory [src] Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (see this image) - "Le mystère de Bladger effraie la ligue de Grenoble" Witches and wizards alike would frantically hunt down the Golden Snidget, eager to receive the reward of 150 Galleons to whoever caught the bird. For years, the Golden Snidget was used as part of the sport. For a combination of reasons , the Golden Snidget was eventually replaced by what everyone now knows as the Golden Snitch. The Golden Snidget Was First Introduced To Quidditch In 1269 In the wizarding world, it seems like everyone loves Quidditch, but understanding the rules can be a little daunting at first. Once you understand the different roles, it becomes an exciting match of athleticism and, well, magic. That being said, the Golden Snitch has a huge role to play when it comes to winning a Quidditch match.

The Official Guide to the Quidditch World Cup was the official guidebook to the Quidditch World Cup, written and published by the International Confederation of Wizards' Quidditch Committee, providing information on the rules and history of the Quidditch World Cup. Sold in most reputable bookstores, this tome cost thirty-nine Galleons, leading most wizards and witches to call it overpriced. [6] Like Adrian Pucey, he appeared to be one of the more decent Slytherin players, as he seemed to play by the rules of Quidditch and did not resort to cheating. [1] Magical abilities and skills [ ]Side Note: Pour some butterbeer out for Fred and George. This was their last ever match for Gryffindor. It’s also truly the end of an era. Angelina and Alicia graduate after this year and Harry never gets to play with the core group of players from his first three years again. Vs. Hufflepuff Match Summary Without a doubt, the game of Quidditch is definitely filled with exhilarating scenes throughout the Harry Potter novels and movies. With heart-pounding action sequences, watching both Seekers hunt for the Snitch is always thrill-inducing. Quidditch makes use of three balls – the Quaffle, which is used by the chasers to score goals by throwing them through the opponent team’s hoops, which fetches the team 10 points. The second ball, called the Bludger is used by the beaters of the team to aim at the players of the opponent teams to distract and impede during the match. The Snitch as described above carries 150 points and is used to end the match when caught by the seeker of one of the playing teams. Terence Higgs was portrayed by British actor Will Theakston, with the credits incorrectly stating he was played by Scot Fearn. Fearn's name was also misspelled as Fern.

The International Confederation of Wizards' Quidditch Committee was an international regulatory body, subject to the International Confederation of Wizards, that oversaw international Quidditch competitions, such as the World Cup. Namely, it located suitable venues, arranged transportation for spectators, and provided policing for the games themselves. It was also the ICWQC that chose the referees for World Cup matches. During the match, the Snitch was sighted fairly early on by both Harry Potter and Terence Higgs. Harry was almost able to catch it, however, he was fouled by Marcus Flint before he could get close enough, and the Snitch vanished in the confusion. [1] A game of Quidditch will only end once the Golden Snitch has been caught, or at the mutual consent of both team Captains.
