There are of course exceptions to this, especially when painting over materials that aren’t drywall. We actually opted for a satin finish on our planked ceiling due to needing an added sheen to showcase, rather than hide the rustic texture.Dulux Diamond Eggshell is a very good paint for bathroom ceilings but in my opinion, is just slightly too expensive to justify paying for, especially with better yet cheaper options on the market. It has an average drying time of two hours and you can apply a second coat, if required, after four hours.If you’re painting a ceiling after those steps, you will really need to prep. I would suggest this for your walls and contractor’s paper all over your floors. I cannot emphasize enough how much the paint got everywhere. Of course, if you wanted a particular colour scheme you could always paint over it with a different coloured emulsion of your choice. It has amazing flow meaning it’s easy to keep a wet edge and roll your way to perfection and avoid the dreaded picture-framing effect that some cheaper paints are prone to. Like the Crown Acrylic Eggshell, Dulux Diamond never flashes over filling so if you do have to make good the ceiling before painting, you can be confident of a great-looking finish.
