When printing, the machine is quiet, much quieter than a classic Ender 3, the ventilation is also quite discreet. Additionally make sure your User-Agent is not empty and is something unique and descriptive and try again.After spending some time assembling and running test 3D prints on the Magician X 3D Printer, we feel confident to recommend this machine to anyone looking to upgrade from a budget printer or for first-timers who are willing to spend some extra cash for the “fancy” features. It’s good practice to tune your print profile any time you use a new material, so you can start with the generic PLA profile. The first up was ABS and ASA, both common 3D print materials (ASA is the same as ABS, except its resistant to UV light. Due to the simple assembly, which consists of only one step, and the automatic levelling, the Magician X is also ideal for 3D printing beginners. I’ve picked up this machine and looked under the bed many times now, thinking I must have missed something.
There's nothing too unusual about the design of the Mingda Magician Max; the company has essentially gone for the usual frame design bolted down onto an all-enclosed base.Unfortunately, this means that you’re stuck without a way to level your bed if the auto level fails to function… as my first one did. At first I quite appreciated the bright display with its clear navigation icons, but then it became somewhat frustrating. Keep in mind that switching to a bigger nozzle may result in some print quality loss depending on the object being printed. The solution ended up being pretty straightforward: open up the idler arm and just feed it through to the hot end while watching.
However, when it came to the overall construction of the machine, it's all well laid out and solid; it's just some of the aesthetics are a little rough around the edges.
Slicing took a stunningly short time, and I just saved the file to the SD card that was included with the printer. The one thing we would say about the design is that while the construction is solid, the base and some parts feel a bit plasticy. I suspect the design team just added a magnet to the machine’s previous glass holding tray, but I’m not going to complain. Next, we started with the test print supplied and then a few 3D Benchy prints; again, I found a little adjustment was needed with the belts requiring tensioning to stop the ripple effect on the outer print wall. A gadget nerd from childhood, Smythe has always been drawn to solving everyday problems with clever tools.
Another nice touch here is that the nozzle is of the standard thread size and can be replaced when it wears out or if you want to replace it with a hardened variety. If you do need to, it’s very easy because MINGDA has included some easy knobs on both X and Y axes to make those adjustments. After testing the Magician X 3D Printer, we were impressed with the first prints (see below) and the accuracy out of the box. When the machine arrives, a little assembly is required for the vertical frame, and a few wires need to be popped into place.The quick reference guide was present and I was able to assemble the printer and have it ready to fire up within half an hour, though I did have to vacuum all the little pieces of polystyrene out of all the nooks and crannies first! Thankfully the instructions are extremely clear, and even for a complete novice, the assembly process should be too challenging. First, the touchscreen menu has unusual navigation choices that one must become accustomed to using. That’s fine for someone like me who is familiar with these machines, but for a beginner it would present a real struggle.
