Named with Shakespeare in mind, this whiskey is a blend of straight rye whiskies finished in french oak and port barrels from Utah in the USA. It’s assumed that High West is *ahem* dumping more Port Wine into the finishing barrels in an attempt to mask the youthful rye whiskey. In it's earliest days there were likely teenage whiskeys going in, but as the barrel brokerage market has begun to teem with competition, the average age has crept lower and lower with every new year. This has a quality that can be elusive to those of us accustomed to (over)analyzing whiskey: the ability to hypnotize the taster with its deliciousness, short-circuiting the critical impulses and making itself disappear during the long, pleasant reverie of savoring the whiskey.
