As we approach the twenty-first anniversary of Bratz, I wanted to create a new masterpost with all the news that has and will come out for the brand in 2022. This post will act as an organized resource for Bratz fans regarding news that comes out this year, and will be consistently updated with news as it comes out. TIMELINE OF NEWS September 1: Links for GNO Sasha and Cloe are found. New Bratz jewelry and apparel are made available at Spencer’s. The characters for this collection are unconfirmed. The letters being used for each listing can either represent a character name OR a collection name, as this was the method used for the Series 2 dolls (i.e. the “M” listing meant Meygan, while the “O” listing meant Ooh La La Kumi). This is completely up to interpretation until the dolls are officially released.

November 9: Mowalola confirms that the Mowalola x Bratz dolls are expected to officially release on December 1st.
The doll's hair whilst lovely does appear to be a bit sparsely rooted if you look underneath so I don't think the rooting is the most thorough. Now, the two powerhouse brands have teamed up again to introduce the first-ever Bratz x Cult Gaia designer dolls, launched October 1, to tell their story of kinship in a new way. December 28: MGA Entertainment inks a deal with Concept One Accessories for a new line of Bratz-themed licensed goods. NOTE: This collection was originally comprised of reproductions of Flaunt It! Yasmin, Cloe, Sasha, and Jade. However, it has since been revealed that those releases were replaced with reproductions of XPress It! Meygan, Formal Funk Runway Disco Nevra, Wild Wild West Kiana, Ooh La La Kumi, and Boyz First Edition Dylan. January 30: A new listing for “Bratz Theme Doll Dana” (Girls Nite Out) is found in Target’s database system. Nylon hair appears to be a new standard for the Bratz brand, as is the case for most MGA doll brands (except for Dream Ella who has been using polypropylene, sorry girl!) since 2019, which is something I fully support. For some context on some of the different hair types used on Bratz, nylon has often been confused with polypropylene, which is a hair fiber that was used in a majority of lines between 2008-2013 and is known for being hard to manage and prone to degrading over time, because of a name mix-up over a decade ago. Saran—which has been used on most Bratz released between 2001-2007, 2015-2018, and on most of the Bratz 20 Yearz Special Edition dolls (except for some later variants which use nylon) released last year—is a great hair fiber that has always satisfied collectors, though it is prone to yellowing and degrading over time. Nylon is another premium hair type that can be easily restyled with heated hair tools and is less likely to degrade over time like saran and polypropylene can do. Saran hair is harder to come by in certain colors and is not as commonly used in modern doll productions, so nylon provides a way for consumers to have these hair colors without resorting to using low-grade polypropylene. Nylon also tends to feel really nice and oftentimes better than saran, so I hope this is something that stays for most—if not all—future Bratz doll releases. October 20: Mowalola confirms that the Mowalola x Bratz dolls are expected to launch in November. (This release date is later changed.) April 28: The official MGA Entertainment newsletter confirms that the Bratz Minis are expected to be released in August. August 15: Mowalola reveals a handpainted sample head of Felicia from their upcoming Bratz collaboration. There has been no indication that a new Bratz movie will be coming out. A Bratz TV theme remix has come out, but there have been no indicators that other new music will be released from the brand.Dana lives in Stilesville with her mother and her cat.
