About this deal

A: You can use the steps from my tutorial to trace your DIY cut out characters on to cardboard, too!

Oh, and if you’re wondering, this is the printer I got. I did a lot of research on the perfect printer for my needs. Something that I could do regular office stuff on, but something that I could also use for printing for crafting needs. Specifically, print-then-cut vinyl designs. This printer is very compact and works really well as a desktop printer. Plus it was really affordable. Here’s what I used for my project!

Once the cut is finished, remove the pieces from the mats as normal and make sure they're all oriented correctly before taping them together..You do not need to burnish the seams. It should look like mine. I chose poplar for the shelving pieces because I really love the grain in poplar. It’s a bit more expensive, but I didn’t need much of it, so it wasn’t a big deal. For the legs, I just used regular pine since I knew I’d be painting them. Absolutely not! You can use your Cricut Venture on a sturdy table. The biggest thing to know is that the machine needs to go at the edge of the table to allow for the mat to move up and down as its cut at a 45° angle. Good thing, all tables have edges, so just slide the machine to the edge and you’re good to go. I can see I will only need four squares for this layer so I will delete one after I “ungroup” them. With the template still in position, fold the inner flap down on the horizontal score line and trace the inside of the shape on the plastic.

Looking for an easy DIY printer stand idea? I’m sharing what I made to maximize vertical space on a desktop. The stand is to store my new printer, two Cricut machines, and a few other things. How to Make a DIY Printer Stand and Storage for Cricuts! If you’ve sized your penguin just like I have, he will fit on one sheet of corrugated plastic. Otherwise, repeat with additional pieces of plastic sheets as necessary, then use Scotch Tape to tape the plastic sheet pieces together.I decided to make a DIY printer stand that had built-in spaces designed to fit my Cricut Explore Air 2 and Cricut Maker, too. Since the printer is slightly smaller than the Cricuts, I could also fit some additional things on top of the shelving. Max Material Load is subject to roll length and Design Space® software limitations. Much bigger than a cutting mat!
