About this deal

The tailswitch boot button is covered by 2 protruding lanyard hole design and the boot is recessed enough for tail-standing. I wish Fenix E20 v2.0 has the same design though... The body doesn’t have much knurling so it can feel a little slippery. Keep in mind that we are talking about a very tiny flashlight, so most people don’t use it as their main work light. If you are an AA flashlight fan, read this review carefully. It has a white beam, with little tint shift and few artifacts. The beam is shown here alongside a triple XPL HI, 4000k, at as close to the same level as I could get to.

All that confusing nonsense is to say: this is a really, really small flashlight! The new size and shape really make me want to like it! We are the home of Fenix lighting products in the United Kingdom, supplying a network of UK retailers, companies and individual customers from our base in Cardiff. Unscrew the light head to put in the battery with the anode (+) toward the light head. Align the threads and screw the tai lcap on to test. Usage and Maintenance Fenixlight Limited was formed in 2001 by a group of enthusiastic young engineers intent on improving upon the lighting products then available. When you open the box, one of the first things you’ll notice is the size. It’s one of the smallest AA flashlights currently on the market. Especially when you consider it has a tail switch.

E12 V2.0

Medium: 30 lumens. That is a very nice “in-between” setting, and about where I’d want a medium to be on this light. Crenelated Bezel: No. On a light this small it doesn’t matter from a defensive standpoint; this light is not an effective impact weapon. We already have a fantastic review starting this thread, and i couldn't come close to doing one like that. Mode Switching: Mode switching is accomplished by half-pressing the tail switch once the light is already on. The tail switch works very well for this. The light comes on at Low, then toggles to Medium, then High. Category 4: Form Factor An updated version of Fenix's popular E12, the V2.0 offers a newer LED, brighter output, improved runtime and a sleeker, light design.

The Fenix E12 V2.0 AA flashlight is powered by a single cell. Support is for only 1.5V cells, but that includes primary (of which one is included), and NiMH (which was used for testing here). There is no support for 14500 cells. The original Fenix E12 has possibly the weakest feature-set of any flashlight I’ve reviewed here to date. Today we look at the updated Fenix E12 V2.0. The form-factor has undergone a major overhaul, but has the rest of the light been brought up to speed? Fenix E12 V2.0Fenix is a brand that people have come to like very much due to its quality products and customer service. Unlike many flashlight brands, Fenix offers a one-year repair guarantee and a lifetime limited warranty on its products. So, this is what you will get when you buy the Fenix E12 LED flashlight.

When it comes to form-factor…well, that’s where the Fenix E12 V2.0 really shines. But it’s also this light’s biggest failure, so… The thin optical lens used in some of recent Fenix E-series flashlight models. Sitting behind this optics is the MATCH CA18-3X2 LED from Genesis Photonics (couldn't find much information about this LED except who manufacture it). Weight: Even though it’s smaller than the old E12, it’s heavier by 0.3 ounces. Not a huge deal – under 2 ounces is still infinitely carry-able. But generally, you should attach the lanyard through these two holes on the tailcap. Both sides of the tailcap have holes.Note: We recommend unscrewing the tail cap by a half turn or removing the batteries to prevent accidental activation or battery leakage when not in use. We began working with Fenix in February 2007 by selling their very early products and are proud to have worked with them ever since, with our company ethos proudly putting premium product quality and outstanding service at the core of our identity. Tested in laboratory conditions to ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard using 1 x AA alkaline battery under the temperature of 21±3°C and humidity of 50% - 80%. Results may vary between torch, battery and environments. Up front disclosure – this light was supplied for free for review. I received no other compensation.)

I love that it starts on low with no mode memory. And again, no blinkies. Good spacing with the four modes. Please take out the battery if the flashlight will not be used for a long time, or it may cause damage from electrolyte leakage or battery explosion. No problems here. Though I didn’t carry this light much I doubt durability would be an issue. Construction feels really solid, and it feels very nice in the hand. In fact it feels so good that I wish the clip was better so I could carry it more.Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare. If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion. Please don't disassemble the sealed head, doing so can cause damage to the flashlight and will void the warranty. A low voltage warning function will gradually reduce the output until low is reached if the battery voltage is no longer sufficient to support the current brightness level, and will remain in low until the batteries are completely drained or replaced.
