About this deal

The following day, North Wales Police confirmed a man had been arrested on suspicion of murder and was in police custody. You can read more about that here. Mr Walley's family earlier paid tribute to the "loving, caring and kind" man, saying that his death has left them "absolutely devastated". He then played computer games for a day and a half while her dead body remained at his house, before burying her in a field at Erddig near Wrexham. They said: “Kyle, you were just 19, with your whole life ahead of you, our boy; you were caring, loving and kind. You made us laugh, made us smile, you had so much to look forward to: college apprenticeship in September and so much more.

Mr Meadows described Jones’ personality as ‘being all over the place’ and that his behaviour was ‘erratic’. The jury heard how married father-of-two Reszpondek met divorcee Ms Rodgers - known as Tati - at a Dairy Crest plant in Wrexham. The defendant watched the police looking for the body from the top of a nearby slag heap, hiding in bushes, wearing camouflage clothing and using binoculars. The fourth witness called to the stand was Charlotte Upton who was Jones' probation officer and said that she had had 'no issues' with the defendant. The statement describes how the officers searched the rural routes heading into Wrexham town centre before PC Pritchard located Jones on Corkscrew Lane. He was found to have 'bloody' hands and was apprehended. It was only at that stage that he went to Wrexham police station and told them where they could find the body. Ms Jones says that, during the call, Jones walked into the kitchen wearing Mr Walley's jumper and that the latter was 'not happy' about it.

From day one, there was a determination and a coldness about him that it was clear he would do whatever it took to frustrate the police inquiry,” the detective added. The circumstances surrounding this incident have been the subject of widespread social media speculation, and we are aware that many young people may have been affected by this. As such, School Liaison Officers and the Neighbourhood Policing Team are working closely with colleagues at Wrexham Council to offer the appropriate support and reassurance to the local community.”He was taken to hospital, but later sadly died. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌ She later heard Mr Walley tell Jones to 'put the knife down kiddo' - which was the name he used when referring to the defendant. He then described seeing a man - now recognised as Jones - making off with a bike from the flats. He also overheard the defendant say: I’ve stabbed someone, he’s dead” and “what am I going to do now?” PC John Pritchard, stated that he was 'made aware' of an incident in the Wrexham area where a video was being circulated on social media depicting a stabbing.
