About this deal

Never look directly at the Sun with the naked eye or with an optic (unless you have the proper solar filter). Permanent and irreversible eye damage may result. Well, times have changed, and now Celestron wants to market this telescope in science gift shops under the guise of terrestrial viewing. Terrestrial viewing really is not suited for a Newtonian! So they include a 20mm erect image eyepiece, which is of poor optical quality and is not really suitable for clear astronomical viewing. I recommend replacing the 20mm eyepiece with a nice 25mm Plossl, or at least a 20-25mm Kellner. The AstroMaster 114EQ’s excellent viewing performance is not just because it is a reflector telescope, though that helps a lot. If you decide to buy it, it will probably last you for a long time, and you’ll be quite happy with it. It comes with two Kellner eyepieces, a 20mm and a 10mm. These are fine as starting eyepieces and should be enough to get you started.

The telescope is attached to the mount by a standard dovetail with tube-rings, so it can be placed on any compatible mount, such as the AstroMaster Alt-az mount or a larger Equatorial Mount. The telescope and mount both rest on a steel tube tripod. It’s lightweight but sturdy to prevent vibrations and shaking. 3. Mounted laser scope After the installation process, I put this Celestron Astromaster 114 telescope to the test. I used the 20mm eyepiece to focus on the target at first. Once the object is centered, the 10mm eyepiece did magic to zoom in the plants closer for me. I had a very pleasant experience while delving into the realm of stargazing. I was able to see the moon in detail with the craters, Saturn with rings, Jupiter along with its moons, Mars, Venus, and some distant stars. This device performed really well to see planets, but not to see the galaxies. 2. Ease of use

Included in this kit are two fully coated glass optics eyepieces: 20mm and 10mm. The 20mm with built-in erect image corrector provides a 50x optical magnification that is wide enough to locate deep-sky objects whilst also providing excellent detail. The 10mm eyepiece provides a 100x magnification for highly detailed observations of the Moon craters and seas, the moons of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn and the expansive Milky Way. Both eyepieces are manufactured to Celestron’s high-quality standards to ensure a bright, sharp view of the night sky every time. The included eyepieces are full coated and provide up to a 100x magnification, perfect for detailed observations of the Moon's craters and seas, the moons of Jupiter and the expansive Milky Way.
