About this deal

Create professional looking decorations with just some folded coloured paper and twine. These paper fan decorations are the perfect craft project to make ahead of the coronation celebrations. Make big ones, small ones, layered ones or mini ones! Strawberries made the main cross of the flag, with the raspberries doing the other part. I then used blueberries to fill in the rest of the flag on top of the cream – and look at how pretty it its! Asda has royally waved at the public festivities with a raft of offerings from its bakery department. Use red, white and blue, or whatever papers you have at home. It’s a great one for using up odd pieces of wrapping paper, too.

King Charles III will be crowned during his coronation ceremony in May – and what better way to celebrate it than with a craft project to create a lovely royal keepsake? We've rounded up the coronation-themed craft kits that are perfect for every skill level and craft interest. There are kits to make street party decorations for beginner crafters, ideas of projects to work on while you're watching the coronation ceremony, and longer and more complex makes with really breathtaking results. There are also loads of kids coronation kits, too, from favourites including Etsy and Baker Ross. I mix the cake mix like normal; beat the butter and sugar together, add the eggs and flour and lemon extract and mix, and then split between the cases. To be super neat, I used a piping bag, but you can obviously spoon the mix in as well. Whenever you decide, we have all the expert coronation-themed party ideas you need for hosting a royally good get together. The good news is you don’t need to spend a fortune or have spent weeks planning to put on a brilliant celebration that friends and family will love. You can obviously use a buttercream instead if you want – but I would avoid an icing like on the school cake as that may cause the fruit to run off slightly. A standard buttercream would be 175g unsalted butter mixed with 350g icing sugar.

When it came to the fruit for this coronation cake, it had to be quite particular due to the flag. I went for strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, all of which are starting to come into season when the coronation happens so it’s the perfect time to use them.

And if you're planning a street party, why not make some decorations of your own? The coronation celebrations are the perfect opportunity to get crafty! Follow our step-by-step guides to make lovely coronation bunting (which doesn't require any sewing!) and paper fan decorations which will brighten up any tablescape. Plus, why not watch the coronation in style with one of our paper crowns fit for a king. If you'd rather be a bit more individual when it comes to your music choices, put your own playlist together ahead of time. You could ask guests to suggest songs and create your own coronation party playlist. On the day, they could put requests on pieces of paper that they then pop in a hat (or crown!) for the home DJ to play. The coronation takes place on Saturday 6 th May 2023 with celebrations expected to last until Monday 8 th May, an additional bank holiday in the UK for the occasion. King Charles III’s coronation is almost upon us and what better way to celebrate the bonus bank holiday weekend than to host a royal-themed party. Don't worry if you've left it until the last minute – we’ve got some brilliant and easy coronation party ideas that will impress your guests.

For the buttercream, beat the butter in a large mixing bowl until creamy, then gradually beat in the icing sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract, then spread over the top of your cooled cake. Eggs – I used medium eggs, but if you have other sizes, weigh them in their shells and then match the other ingredients – get to as close to 400g as possible.

The baked goods, which will be available in Asda stores and online from 27 April to 18 May, include: For the frosting, to fit the lemon theme a bit more, I did a lemon buttercream frosting. I love a light lemon buttercream, and when you make a super whipped buttercream frosting it is glorious. I would recommend using fresh fruit for this cake as frozen berries will not look as nice and will thaw/leak in a weird way onto the cream. If you are worried, decorate the cake somewhat last minute before serving, but it does last a couple of days in the fridge. From coronation decorations you can easily make yourself to tasty food that’s easy to prepare, here's how to get the party started Coronation craft ideas The little cases are so cute, and they are a self contained portion of cake that you can simply place onto a large flat baking tray, portion the cake mix into the cases, and bake.

Sainsbury’s said 71% of shoppers are planning to gather with family and friends to celebrate the coronation, with afternoon tea coming out on top of the list of activities by those surveyed. To help with the celebrations, Sainsbury’s has unveiled a ‘right royal range’ of bakery items. I wanted to make a cake that really would suit making and serving for any celebrations for King Charles coronation, and this one is perfect. It’s easy, delicious, light and fun to make! It’s a showstopper, but still easy to serve. The Coronation
