The body of a naked woman is discovered in a Manchester park. Her murder has all the hallmarks of a notorious killer known as the Suffolk Strangler. But there’s a problem – the Strangler is serving a life sentence in prison. Like many in this genre there was a sense of insta love between the two leads. Like I totally understand immediate lust and attraction, but how do you fall “in love” with someone that you admittedly know nothing about outside the bedroom? I hate those types of storylines; like what do you love about this person outside of sex? They literally don’t talk to you or have any meaningful conversations with you otherwise, yet you have managed to fall in love with them after a few weeks/months. I thoroughly enjoyed Deadly Obsession which is a compulsive read with a clever perpetrator. It doesn’t add anything new or revolutionary to the genre, but it’s a well done and engrossing example of it. It is told mostly from Jane Phillips’s point of view, although the killer gets plenty of exposure too. He is named, his motive is explained and there is enough detail about his life to make him appear an unlikely killer. Normally this is enough to put me off a novel, but in this case, strangely, it seems to make the novel more compulsive as the questions swirl - how much truth is he telling, is his motive as he says, how does he stay in front of the hunt for him? To get these answers there was no choice but to keep reading as fast as possible. Ritman, Alex (17 March 2022). A copy of this book was kindly provided to me by Netgalley and Inkubator Books in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! ***The author wrote this book several years ago and her writing style has improved since then (going by the Grant series). There's a preview of the story, which I appreciate knowing what a story is about before I read it. I found this book on Booksprout.co. 3* Whittington, Paul (8 April 2023). "Obsession star Charlie Murphy: 'You have to have a really happy set to go to those dark places —Love/Hate was one of the happiest' ". Independent.ie . Retrieved 10 April 2023. There’s some uncomfortable casual homophobia going on with Phillips’ team, like the guys teasing that one guy “looks gay”, & then that guy being offended by the suggestion. Is that really necessary?

Viv knows this marriage is business only but she can’t help her growing feelings and need for her husband. She knows Aidan is just playing the part of her husband but somewhere along the way everything changed and she can’t fight it anymore. The spice was excellent. I feel like each book gets a little spicier. We knew Aiden's book would be good given his horn dog history, and the author didn't disappoint. According to WLBT, the couple has been working in the film industry for over 20 years. Together, they operate The Peoples Network, directing and producing over 100 films. Lynette is not thrilled about the news, and in addition to stalking Sam Austin in his son, she breaks into Casey’s house… with a hammer. Then she grabs a butcher knife and stabs Casey’s clothing while laughing like the stepsisters from Cinderella. A series of murders initially has Jane and the team baffled until they realise that someone is recreating the crimes of Britain’s worst serial killers. Is it a team or an individual? Whoever it is is smart and always seems one step ahead.if tails is Sonic's best friend, and I'm not your best friend..... THEN YOU!, ARENT SONIC!!! 2022-03-16T12:13:54Z Comment by Dark_warrior0789 As DCI Jane Phillips and her Major Crimes team begin to piece together the victim’s final hours, another body is discovered, and this time it’s a carbon copy of murders committed by the infamous Muswell Hill Murderer. Viv was okay. I neither liked nor disliked her. She was very average to me. I thought when she mentioned her dream proposal and everything that the author was going to have Aiden do some serious romantic stuff when he realized he loved her. Nope. Nothing. They basically have so much sex they fall in love. Sam is rightfully upset with Casey, and he tells him to get out of his sight because he can’t even look at her. Lynette can’t look at her either (on her TV.) She grabs the knife and confronts Casey in the kitchen in the middle of the night. Lynette cries and screams about Sam being a liar and that he promised to marry her. She rushes Sam with the knife, and he ends up killing her. This is not a fantasy sequence. I can’t trust this movie now. They used a lot of Clinton locals for the movie. The 30 extras included elementary school children and police officers. Renee shared, “So that was fun, and they had a good time doing it.”

The plot is really fun. I don’t want to spoil by explaining, but the serial killer set up is pretty creative & interesting! The four-part series has been described as an ‘erotic thriller’. [6] Discussing the sex scenes within the project Lloyd Malcolm told Zoe Williams of The Guardian that “The book is so particular about the kind of sex they’re having and the way they do it and how that feeds into their relationship.” She added that “it has to be quite a vanilla version of kink, because it’s mainstream TV” but it “was really important to me to not be saying anything like: ‘BDSM sex is bad sex,’” [7] Broadcast [ edit ] Williams, Zoe (31 March 2023). " 'The all-consuming orgasm': how erotic thriller Obsession takes sex to the next level". The Guardian . Retrieved 10 April 2023.I would like to thank Netgalley and Inkubator Books for an advance copy of Deadly Obsession, the fifth novel to feature DCI Jane Phillips of the Greater Manchester Major Crimes Unit.

A creative serial killer plot that kept me engaged throughout the book, with a satisfying ending. Not heavy on character development, but what’s there worked. Don’t forget to listen to the Lifetime Uncorked Podcast available on iTunes, Stitcher, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts! This is another amazing addition to the Callahan Syndicate series. You will fall in love with Viv & Aidan! This book is filled with lust, desire, happiness, uncertainty, conflict, a bit of danger & a whole lot of Love!!A beautiful LA actress named Naomi, is in a fender bender and then held at gunpoint and killed? (I guess? It happens off screen.)
