About this deal

Corsair are one of the leading manufactures of high-performance gear and technology for gamers. The brand was founded in 1994 by Andy Paul, Don Leiberman, and John Beekley and grew into one of the largest developers in the gaming industry today. The most important factor is sound quality, and the HS70 Pro Wireless are the superior choice. I was surprised because both headsets offer very similar audio technical specifications with 50mm neodymium drivers and 7.1 surround sound. At the end of the day, the HS70 Pro Wireless were much more clear in sound direction, audio cues, and overall immersive experience.

Using Bluetooth, I connected the HS70 Bluetooth to my cell phone, and the experience was equally as fantastic in terms of the quality of the sound. If you detached the mic and used these as daily, over-ear headphones, you’d be highly satisfied as it sounds the same wired as it does with a Bluetooth connection.

How well does the Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless attenuate noise?

The ear cups are lined with memory foam and are a bit on the large side. They fit over my ears comfortably with a moderately good seal, but I think if you have a smaller head they might feel unwieldy and a solid seal might be difficult. The HS70 weigh 330 grams without the mic, or 11.6 ounces, which is average for a wireless headset (and lighter than Corsair’s Void headsets). The microphone adds another 9 grams, or 0.3 ounces. Unfortunately, the detachable microphone is short and feels rather cheap. It allows movement in every direction but is only 5.5 inches in length. It isn’t long enough to be placed directly in front of my mouth and hangs to the left. The HS70 Pro Wireless connects through the included USB Bluetooth adapter to the Sony PS4/PS5 and PC, but will not work on the Xbox One. The connections are made instantly and you are notified by a voice telling you that headphones are on and have connected. The Logitech G Hub’s versitile sound quality settings are ideal for a game like Escape from Tarkov since sound has such importance. The G Pro X 7.1 surround sound on PC is very accurate. The G Pro X is compatible with all devices, while the HS70 is only compatible with PC, Mac, and PlayStation.

The Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless give a great initial impression. They follow the ordinary design for gaming headphones but pull it off better than most. Something that sets this control software apart from other company’s products is its Dashboard. In the Dashboard you can add windows that have controls specific to the peripherals added. So for the HS70, you can select to show an EQ window with mic adjustment and a window for the battery level. If you have other Corsair products (like system fans or a keyboard), they can be added alongside so everything is displayed on the Dashboard tab. You can even add in system info from your motherboard, graphics card, processor, and memory that will show internal temps, fan speeds, and other interesting stats relating to system utilization. It's perfect if you're the type of gamer that likes to keep tabs on your gear, but of course it only works with Corsair products. Control simplicity is an important factor when it comes to wireless headphones. The HS70 Pro Wireless controls are easily understood, intuitive to locate, and not overcrowded with options. Comfort Comfortable memory foam ear cups. The company covers just about everything from gaming hardware, streaming gear, PC components, and even gaming PCs. The company has even expanded out to actively try and promote gaming around the world. The company built an esports center at Cal Berkeley available to anyone eager to step into pro gaming. The G Pro X and HS70 are hands down two of the best gaming headphones I have ever tested and compared. Neither headset fails in a section and both offer a great product that’s reflective of their price. When playing both Battlefront II and Battlefield 1 on my PC, the 7.1 Surround gave great spatial awareness to everything that was happening around me. Enemies creeping through rubble or firing their blasters down the next hallway were easily located and neutralized. The stereo mode was an identical experience to that on the PS4. Sound isn’t quite as expansive as the 7.1 setting, but the ability to place and locate sounds isn’t that diminished.
