Each time you switch the lights on, the in-built memory chip will automatically select the last function used. To activate the timer, hold the button down for 3 seconds. The button will illuminate green to signal the 6 hour timer is engaged and red for the 8 hour timer; you can still cycle through the different functions whilst in timer mode. To turn the timer off, again, simply press and hold the button for 3 seconds.
