The Regena-C Moisturizer is good for most skin types and is gentle enough for the eye area. The active ingredients found in this Facetheory moisturizer are: Shea butter naturally emolliates dry patches and provides a quercetin boost along with some natural sun protection. We have better news regarding the three magic abilities of vitamin C: there is in-vivo (tested on real people) data showing that SAP does have photo-protective (aka antioxidant) properties, though less than pure AA. SAP might also aid collagen boosting;in-vitro (made in the lab) data shows that it works, but is less effective than another vitamin C derivative, called MAP (that seems to be as effective as pure AA). As for skin-brightening, there is a trade publication with in-vivo data showing that SAP can fade brown spots.
The Tamanu Oi l soothes and softens your skin and it has a mild, nutty smell. It works well on dry skin, scars, or stretch marks, and it can be used to treat eczema and rosacea. Transparent product labeling: Facetheory emphasizes transparency in product labeling. They provide detailed ingredient lists and explain the purpose and benefits of each ingredient. As for the disadvantages, Zinc Oxide is also not cosmetically elegant. It leaves a disturbing whitish tint on the skin , although , according to a 2000research paper by Dr. Pinnell, it's slightlyless white than TiO2. Still, it's white and disturbing enough to use Zinc Oxide nanoparticles more and more often. Quality ingredients: Facetheory focuses on using high-quality ingredients in their formulations. They prioritize natural and active ingredients, avoiding harsh chemicals like parabens, sulfates, and artificial fragrances. Their products often contain beneficial ingredients like hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and niacinamide. As with my other moisturisers from them, the top of the jar is screw-top and easy to get off. There’s no cardboard/foil seal that you usually find on moisturising creams, which strongly suggests that there are no artificial preservatives (another brownie point from me).
These are bold claims and they put in a disclaimer too which says Facetheory products contain a high concentration of actives, so only a small amount is required per use. As we wrote in our lengthy retinol description the problem is that the conversion is not terriblyeffective. The evidence that RP is still an effective anti-aging ingredient is not very strong, in fact, it's weak. Dr. Leslie Baumann in her fantastic Cosmetic Dermatologybook writes that RP is topically ineffective. To apply, you use your finger (or a small spatula) to get the product out of the jar. As with my other Facetheory products, only a small amount is required as the skincare products from this brand contain a high concentration of actives. I usually dot a few small dabs of the cream around my face before gently rubbing in (see the landscape video below of me applying it). Not going to lie, after reading all that I was very excited to try it and maybe even a little bit scared! Natural Vitamin E: a fat-soluble vitamin that helps hydrate your skin. It also fights toxins and reduces UV damage. No need to worry about that greasy feeling when using the Tamanu Oi l offered by Facetheory. Instead, you’re left with dewy-looking skin that feels fresh. The oil provides extra hydration for dry and sensitive skin, and is recommended for most skin types.
