The trigger pads give you the ability to trigger one-shot samples, remix songs on the fly, beat juggle and even create hot cues. In the introduction, I mentioned how the current generation of stand-alone units require media analysed by a computer, and you maybe confused to learn that Denon DJ has its own software that it recommends you use with your music before using the Prime 4. When we say that the Denon DJ Prime 4 can do it all, we don’t think that’s exaggerating. The controller even has a “Censor” mode that will edit out any profanity in songs. Users can now sync tempo with external hardware using Ableton Link over both wired and wireless networks. Once Ableton Link has been enabled, an orange link icon will be shown in the top right of the toolbar providing the number of linked devices, sync lead tempo, and phase meter showing the current beat position. When synced, the tempo will match the tempo of the longest playing device. The lead tempo can be adjusted from any device and all other linked devices will automatically follow. Now, onto one of the biggest features of the Prime 4+ and likely what catches most people’s eyes when looking at DJ controllers. The screen on the Denon Prime 4 Plus is sublime. It’s a monstrous 10-inch screen that is hi-res and ultra-vivid. You can also adjust the viewing angle to your preference as well. Engine Prime officially supports Windows 8 and Windows 10, which are almost exclusively 64-bit. Because of this, we are currently only supporting 64-bit Windows platforms.The build quality of the Denon Prime 4 Plus is fantastic. Metal components add heft to the device and it doesn’t feel cheap like most entry-level controllers feel.
