About this deal

The Bible makes a clear distinction between “temptation” and “sin.” Christ was tempted in every point like as we are, yet He never sinned (Heb 4:15); therefore, there is a difference between temptationand sin. Scripture goes on to tell us that the victory that overcomes the world is “our faith” (1 Jn 5:4). It is not we who overcome the world in our own strength – we do not have a power plant inside ourselves that can overcome the world. The overcoming is the work of the Lord Jesus Christ, as we have already seen. There can be a victory, a practical victory, if we raise the “empty hands of faith” moment by moment and accept the gift. God has promised a way of escape that we might not succumb to temptation (1 Cor 10:13). The apostle Peter writes, “You are a chosen race… a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Pet 2:9). As Christians, we are a people set apart for a purpose – and that is to show forth the praises of God. The supreme purpose of man is that he love God with all his heart, all his soul, and all his mind (Mt 22:37). Furthermore, it was always God’s intention that His children be the evidence and demonstration of Christ’s victory on the cross. Every Christian is to be a demonstration at his own point of history andto his own generation – not only of God’s character, which is a moral demonstration, but of God’s very existence. Though the Christian is called to believe right doctrine, Scripture also places an importanceon what he does as well as how he does it – in Christian service, the how is as important as the what.

You will develop your spirituality in an exponential way once meditation becomes a way of living rather than a habit. Every being on this planet could use meditation in their lives, spiritual or not. 2) Question everything To cope with feelings of stress, depression, and anxiety: Spiritual experiences can be helpful when coping with the stresses of life.Once you’ve chiseling away at your thoughts and beliefs, stillness is left. No thoughts to get in the way, life takes on a magical appearance. Life flows. Even the dullest moments turn into moments of bliss and ecstasy. Only two kinds of people: those in the flesh, and those in the Spirit. Those in the Spirit are spiritual. And those who are natural are also fleshly. So, in the purest, truest, simplest sense, there are only two kinds of people: spiritual people, and natural people who are also carnal people. The first understanding that I want you to have is that. Unregenerate people are natural. That is they live according to human nature, and they are carnal of fleshy; they operate out of the flesh – the impulses of the flesh. Christian people are spiritual; the Holy Spirit dwells within them. Their inner man has been made alive; they are new creations; they are sensitive to God and alive to spiritual reality. Now, that’s basic.

He was in love with God. He was earnestly seeking a deeper and closer relationship with God with all his heart (Jeremiah 29:12-14) – as one friend knows another very close and personal friend. All through the Psalms David was seeking after God. The “something more” is found in seeking God with all your heart day after day. I would encourage you to read the brief study called “God’s Great Passion.” It is the Holy Spirit who fills the inner being Conclusion Other Renew tapes promise to speak into being. They will speak into being in your life prosperity, weight loss, peace, healing, self-esteem, salvation, marital harmony, surrender to God, acceptance of God’s love, and a closer walk with God. And according to Renew – quote –“Bible-based subliminal messages hit controlling spirits where they live and command them to leave in Jesus’ name, and then the void is filled with the Word of God.” End quote. Focus on what matters. Figure out your own values are and then help others find theirs. This journey wasn’t meant to be taken alone. Francis Schaeffer has taught us that true spirituality is lived in the present moment by real people among real people—no veneer, no varnish. For all those who want to know how to live as a Christian in our present moment, you will find here timeless and timely theological and biblical wisdom for everyday life. This book has already helped one generation—may it be used to serve another.” If you’re lost and don’t know where to even begin, below is a spirituality for beginner’s guide that covers everything you need to know (and more).Wachholtz AB, Sambamthoori U. National trends in prayer use as a coping mechanism for depression: Changes from 2002 to 2007. J Relig Health. 2013;52(4):1356-68. doi:10.1007/s10943-012-9649-y Paul writes, “I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who lives, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God” (Gal 2:20). Note the negative and the positive – we have been crucified (death) that we might walk in newness of life. Paul shares the same force in his letter to the Romans (6:4). Paul also says: “Our old self was crucified with Christ, that our body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin” (Rom 6:6). Therefore as Christians, we died with Christ. . . but we also rose with Christ – hence, there is to be an external positive manifestation of the inward positive reality. We are not just dead to certain things… we are to love God… we are to be alive to Him… we are to be in communion with Him (in this present moment of history). Since we have been justified (made righteous) by Christ, we should desire a “deeper life of true spirit-uality;” one that springs forth from within – “the love of God has been poured out in our hearts throughthe Holy Spirit” (Rom 5:5); the fruit of the Spirit should be produced in us – love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and self-control (Gal 5:22-23). (1-17) And he’s doing deference to people like me and others who have some kind of a ministry because you can’t just flatly deny that people have a ministry, but it is a second-class ministry. It is a partial measure of spiritual ministry and incomplete manifestation of spiritual gifts and endowments because we’ve never had the culminating, Pentecostal gift of the baptism of the Spirit and that zap.

The basic psychological problem is “trying to be what we are not.”The basic problem for us as believers is “not being willing to be the creatures we are before the Creator.” We need to “be real.” Since the fall, we all have points of weakness – with some of us it tends to be physical, with others it tends to be psychological. Fear can be small, or it can be the horror of great despair – many modern men who have come to a philosophy of despair have gone through the horror of a great darkness. Many psychologists, for example Carl Gustav Jung, will meet this fear simply by telling the patient to “act as if God were there!” Alcoholics Anonymous attendees refer to it as “their higher power!” The wonderful truth for the Christian is the fact that “God really is there!” And He really loves and cares for us! So whenever we find these points of tension and conflict within us, we are not at a dead end, because the blood of Jesus Christ can cleanse us from all true guilt, not just once – but as many times as we need it! There is always the possibility of a truly new start within a totally rational framework – because of the redemptive work of Christ on the cross. We want to encourage you to mention your concerns to your pastor, and ask him to explain why he has made the changes. This can open communication. We also want to encourage you to pray for your pastor regarding the decisions he is making. God wants us to pray about everything and not complain (Eph. 6:18; Phil. 2:14). May the Lord give you wisdom. You have to find your own way in life. My way will not be exactly your path. Have an open heart and ears but when the time is right, you need to listen to your own inner being.Pointing” is a word that’s used often in spirituality. The best spiritual teachings are the ones that make you search for yourself. There are no spiritual teachers, only spiritual teachings. Just as our physical lives begin at birth, the Christian life begins with our spiritual birth. There was a day—a moment—in which God “made us alive” (Eph 2:5) spiritually. Physical birth and spiritual birth are the two most important events of our lives. If not for the one, we wouldn’t be alive; and if not for the other, we wouldn’t have become Christians. Spiritual birth marks a new way of life for the believer. Having been made new, we are not just called to live but called to live as a Christian. What is God's meaning of true spirituality? Our pastor has started a sermon series on spirituality. He is using the six basis of spirituality according to a book written by Richard Foster. I have severe reservations about the direction this series may take as it appears to be a topical sermon series. Also, he is not continuing his Wednesday Bible study on a book of the Bible but a topical supplement to the sermons preached on the prior Sunday, which apparently was at the determination of the group attending. Originally the Bible study was on a Tuesday and was recently changed to a praise, prayer, Bible meeting. The Bible study was cut to a half hour and not presented as an in depth study, but as an overview. I was determined to be open-minded and have an open-heart. Now it has changed again within a month and is now a topical supplement. I am having severe difficulty accepting this change. I feel the pastor is pushing his own needs and/or thinks this will promote growth in the congregation. I don't understand where he is going anymore and have lost my fervor to learn as it would not be possible anymore to find a qualified biblical teaching else where in the church. I feel completely let down by the church and the thought of attending another social function, meeting, or opportunity to feed myself instead of feasting on God's Word is just about ruining all hope I have in the Church. Bible Answer: Charismatics argue that unless you have the baptism of the Holy Spirit with tongues, you can’t function the way God really wants you to; you’re missing something. If, on the other hand, you do have the baptism of the Spirit with tongues, you’ve been elevated to a level of spirituality and sanctification.
