About this deal

The slow blinking BLUE indicators on the MODE & POWER switches depict charging in progress and solid BLUE (no blinking) indicators depicts charging has completed. Like others have mentioned, even in its lowest setting, it makes plenty of light. I'm a flashlight enthusiast, so I have quite a collection of high-end flashlights, which is to say that I am familiar with lumen output. in 200-lumen mode, this thing definitely puts out plenty of light, making it a very good everyday-carry tool. A note about candela readings in general – being 10cm out at 5m can make such a difference; had I measured 72 lux at 5.1m (10cm difference), then I’d be getting 1872cd, almost the same as my 10m reading. At these lux levels and distances, being out even a small amount can change the numbers quite a bit. The compact torch is rechargeable via a USB-C port and has multiple charging safeguards, including over-discharge, overcharge, short-circuit protection and once charging has completed, it will automatically terminate. Please note, a charging cable is not included. The 2 side electronic switches require a relatively light press to activate. The slightly recessed switches does help mitigate the possibility of unwanted activation of the light.

The Nitecore TINI 2 review | Keychain flashlight with 500 lumens

The advanced temperature regulation module allows the TINI 2 to regulate its output and adapt to the ambient environment to maintain optimal performance. There are 2 settings (DEMO and DAILY) and 2 electronic switches on the side of the flashlight – MODE button (closer to the head) & POWER button (further from the head) to operate the light. A bit of up and down here – I’ve measured Low and Medium as above their rated spec, but High and Turbo as below. They’re well within the margin of error, though. When in daily mode the light will stay on until you press the power button to turn the light off. To switch between daily and demo mode, simply hold both the power and mode buttons down at the same time until the light flashes once to indicate demo mode or twice to indicate daily mode and the screen will also display the selected mode. There are tint shifts throughout the beam profile. The hotspot is cool white whilst the corona possess a slight yellowish-green tint; and most of the spill having a slight yellowish-green tint. We found the TINI2 has a longer battery life between charges than the original TINI in day to day use, even though the manual indicates it is the same or lower than the original TINI. Here are 2 bonus size comparison pictures with other Nitecore flashlights and when attached to a car key fob. The beam of the Nitecore TINI2 has a white (CW) tint that is not too cold and no particular artifact or dominant. I didn't notice PWM in the various brightness levels. The distance from the start of the spill to the feet is about 20 cm. Introducing the upgraded Nitecore TINI 2, the dual OSRAM P8 LEDs give off an impressive 500 lumen output, perfect for daily use for a far-reaching and uniform beam that reaches up to 97 yards. For how powerful the TINI 2 is, Nitecore managed to keep it small and lightweight. Weighing less than 1oz and smaller than a car key, TINI 2 is the perfect edc light on a keychain.

Nitecore TINI2 | Expert Review by Koen van der Jagt Nitecore TINI2 | Expert Review by Koen van der Jagt

The Nitecore TINI2 comes from the Nitecore’s T series and is the second generation version of the original Nitecore TINI model. To turn on Demo mode, press the Power button and Mode button at the same time to switch between DAILY and DEMO modes. The LED will flash once to indicate DEMO mode and twice for DAILY mode. One of the biggest new feature is the OLED display. When you turn it on or switch brightness, the OLED display will show the amount of of lumens, followed a flash of the word “NITECORE” as sort of a loading screen, followed by a constant countdown of the amount of time you can use it until the battery runs out. The flashlight is sealed and tightened down with 6 screws from factory – disassembly is not recommended. Before the TINI 2, there was the original TINI and an SS verion that uses stainless steel. The TINI 2 is an entirely new redesigned version which is much sleeker.

It is powered by a built-in 280 mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery which is recharged via the USB-C charging port located on the side of the torch. Remove the dust cover and plug in a USB-C cable (not included) at one end and plug the other end into a USB port or a compatible USB adaptor. The indicator will blink slowly and the screen will display battery status while charging is in progress and once charging is complete after approximately 1 hour, 45 minutes the indicator will be solid and the screen will display a full battery icon. A battery protection circuit is incorporated that provides over-discharge, over-charge and anti short circuiting protection. The IP54 rating means the Tini2 is protected from limited amounts of dust and water. It will survive a water spray or a bit of rain, but it is NOT waterproof or submersible. The TINI2 does not come with any USB-C cable. Using a XTAR-branded Micro-USB Cable, the battery was charging at ~0.26A. In addition to this it now has two emitters for a higher maximum output of 500 lumens (momentary output) from two OSRAM P8 LEDs, which is an incredible output from the compact body, an OLED screen display and utilises a USB Type-C charging port for easy and fast charging. The latest generation in the TINI series is the TINI 2, which retains popular features such as the as the dual switch design, daily mode and demo mode, advanced power cut-off technology for an ultra-low standby power consumption and a built-in 280 mAh battery.

The light is capable of operating on all modes even when charging (at the expense of a slower charging rate). However, it is recommended to limit the usage to “ULTRA-LOW” or “LOW” mode only, to ensure that the battery does get charged. I'll put the good stuff up front, you can scroll down for more info. This is the smallest brightest flashlight you can get. USB C lithium ion rechargeable battery makes all the difference compared to disposable battery powered lights. Note: The battery life is short if you run it at “turbo” mode, just like the original TINI. In the lower 200 lumen mode, it is still bright enough to easily see in a completely dark room with this tiny keychain flashlight. Conclusion what is the self discharge? The manual says that I should recharge it every quarter of keeping it in storage. Sounds very bad. And may explain why they fully charged it in the factory.
